Why Beyonce's "Take That Mitches" Was Poor Taste

Beyonce's post-election notice

Beyonce` made me shake my head after election night when she updated her Tumblr and new Instagram account with a photo of a hand-written note that read “TAKE THAT MITCHES” (the photo has since been removed). I was happy to see President Obama re-elected like any other supporter, but I found the posting to be in poor taste. It’s one thing to express elation, but once you use the competitor’s name or image (especially as a replacement for the expletive “bitches”), it becomes personal and more like an attack or insult, versus an endorsement for someone else. Had Romney won and someone posted something similar about Barack Obama, it would be deemed arrogant, disrespectful and perhaps racist depending on the wording. Also, Beyonce` has to keep in mind that she is a public figure with a diverse fan-base. She clearly didn’t consider how her fans who voted for Romney would feel. No, I’m not suggesting that she keep her political views quiet; I’m suggesting that she keep it classy. There was no need to gloat or disrespect the governor in order to celebrate. What do you all think?

I agree but I do think that it was meant as a joke, which is a little obvious to me. Beyonce is the epitome of class and this is what one mishap that could be taken as 'poor taste?' She's a human being and bleeds red just like we all do. She won't always make the best decisions or the best statements, but who here is a saint? She's the closest thing as a far as a celebrity that I've seen. No she didn't consider her fans who were Romney supporters though we all are extremely aware of her massive support for President Obama, so I don't think anyone's feelings should be necessarily hurt. It was a poor joke that wasn't thought entirely through, but in my opinion, it was nothing more and nothing less.

I don't think it's about her being a saint. I think she was just trying to point out that Beyonce` made a bad PR move and I don't think that people would call it a 'joke' if it was about Obama, so she made a good point, IMO.

What do I think? I think Beyonce is a grown azz woman who has 16 Grammys & has sold millions of albums across the globe. In other words, I think she can do what the Hell she wants to do & doesn't need to explain herself &/or her actions to anybody lol

What is she referring to? Mitches? Sorry not sure...
Also, as a kinda white person Im not happy with Beyonce making a racist statement at the probably the Worst Super Bowl Half Time Show Ive ever seen! I love entertainment. Black or White. Doesnt matter to me. Just dividing the country when it is trying to move forward. As far as Im concerned Im disgusted that white/ish people and their children get no coverage when they are gunned down by police and the Govt. White lives matter too. Guess not. Huh. Thats the problem. We did not enslave you. Good grief. I surely didnt. And neither did any of my distant relatives.
