I completely understand your concerns but I disagree. I agree with your little brother. You should get any job that you can for now because nothing else is coming up. Continue to look for a job that fits your competence while making ends meet. You never know who you may meet while working the job you don't want. You sure getting any connects by sitting on the couch. Do what you have to do for now.

Unfortunately most people end up in jobs that aren't related to their degree. You could try volunteering while you're doing the job you have to to survive. That way, you move to the top of the list when ppl are hiring. There are some jobs you will almost never be turned down for. Substitute teaching and the military are two of these. They may not be your cup of tea, but they are out there.
